Show Where are Bodum products made? asked on November 21, 2013 Showing 1-7 of 7 answers
Depends on the product AND even when that product was manufactured. For example, my Bodum No. 1543 Brazil Coffee Maker was manufactured in Germany. Manufacturing locations can change over time. In addition, the actual design and materials can often also undergo changes. Always check with the current supplier to get the most recent information. Old reviews may no longer be accurate. I found one of the manufacturing plants for a specific coffee press located in Portugal. Several websites of Bodum glassware and presses listed China as the country of origin. I also looked at the website of Alibaba which is an importer and exporter of lots of things, including Bodum and Bodum style. I went through a couple of dozen of these products and found one maker of smaller double walled glasses as being manufacture in France. I did find that Bodum bought a French manufacturer a number of years ago. About 50-60% of the items in the borosilicate glass area said Bodum or Bodum style. Except for one from France, all the others where from China. About four of the items when going to the manufacturers website actually used Bodum as part of the description, some being OEM. They all looked like copycats of Bodum or other sellers of these type of glasses and presses. I know that Bodum has a design company/house in Switzerland. I found it difficult to find one good source saying where their products are manufactured. I don't doubt products are made in other countries as recent news suggests that with wage increases and shipping China is not necessarily the best place for some manufacturing. see less After my original answer where I thought the question was what is it made of, I researched Bodum on the internet.
