Hello everyone! Just a quick question - I asked the employees at my sheetz and they have no idea. Starting a few days ago and continuing through today, popcorn chicken is gone from the menu entirely. Is it a distribution issue because of the current state of things, or has it been gotten rid of for good?
In test districts they've been gone for a while. Which is good, really. The fryer drawers were getting crowded, and there's already boneless bites and chicken tenders on the menu. Not exactly the same, but 🤷♂️
They’re not tho they’re always like filled with grease
Unfortunately, it’s gone for good. We were told it would be replaced by a new item in the next few weeks/months.
Thats actually upsetting :( That was one of our favorite things to order when we did. Fuck, man. Thank you for your answer though, I appreciate it!
Po'boy sandwhich has never been the same..
I work at a store in NC and I’ve been a supervisor for almost 5 months and we’ve never had popcorn chicken. Just boneless bites!
NC got rid of popcorn chicken a few years back. But y'all got to keep the real wings when everyone else lost them

Sheetz is a restaurant, convenience store and gas station chain that has had a place in the nation’s hearts for over 60 years. Their slogan is “Fresh Food Made To Order,” and their specialty M.T.O (made to order) brand covers a wide selection of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks and drinks.
The company’s M.T.O philosophy is simple; fresh food prepared as and when you want it, meaning no stale sandwiches that have been on display for a week. They use high quality ingredients in all of their meals; and you can either takeout, eat-in, or enjoy them on the go. Sheetz are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and with such a huge selection, they have something for everyone.
It was in 1952, in Altoona, Pennsylvania that Bob Sheetz purchased one of his father’s five dairy stores and the Sheetz chronicle began. Over the first 11 years, Sheetz created an excellent reputation for fresh, tasty, ‘made to order’ food.
In 1963, Bob, who also employed his brother Steve to help run the business, opened the second location. This was the first expansion of many and by 1972 the company had grown to 14 stores. The initial locations focused solely on the convenience store and restaurant aspect of the business, but in 1973 they expanded this to include self service gasoline and gas pumps.
Sheetz is, and always has been, a family run affair. Even when Bob retired, it continued to run with close involvement from the Sheetz family. The business has no franchises and all of the locations are company run and operated. This ‘keep it in the family’ attitude is something that has helped the business to maintain the high quality of its products over the years.
Today, there are over 400 stores in 6 different states and the company has made a name for itself as a firm family favorite.
With such a wide variety of food and drinks, Sheetz really do cater for everyone’s needs. The company is built on a foundation of good service and first-rate, delicious food; all in very liberal portions.
They offer meals for every whim and for any time of the day: breakfast sandwiches, wrapz, nachoz, burritos, burgerz, pizza, paninis, hot dogs, french fries, chicken stripz and salads, to name a few. Their ‘Shweetz Bakery’ also offers a selection of scrumptious treats, including: donuts, cinnamon rolls and fritters. Plus with their range of soft drinks, specialty coffees and signature cola fountains, you won’t go thirsty. If you’re looking at the menu and wondering what to order, the chilli cheese fries, meatball sub or grande breakfast burrito are all popular choices. Alternatively, try their famous mac’n’cheese, you won’t be disappointed.
Sheetz has frequently been voted as one of the top 5 places to work, and the members of staff are helpful, friendly and professional. Additionally, their online ordering system makes ‘convenient’ even more so. Before you arrive, order what you want online and customize the order to your exact requirements. It’s then cooked fresh and is ready for you to collect when you get there. To top this all off, Sheetz is particularly affordable and you can get a full meal for under $5. Subs and sandwiches range from $2 to $7.99, for sides it’ll be as little as $1.29 and their pizzas are equally reasonable, from $4 to $8.
Whether you’re looking for a quick snack before your afternoon meeting or an entire meal for the family, Sheetz is the place to go. With quality ingredients, affordable prices, friendly service and their fresh ‘made to order’ philosophy, they are, and will continue to be, a welcoming sight across the highways of America.
